New Meetup: Iron Mountain CITO (cache in trash out) GC2A304

Announcing a new Meetup for Geocaching San Diego!

What: Iron Mountain CITO (cache in trash out) GC2A304

When: Saturday, July 24,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Iron Mountain Trail
Poway Rd & St Route 67
Poway, CA 92064

This event is organized by Eric & Hill and ThePolarBear

Meet up at the top of Iron Mountain at 9am and remove all of the
magazine trash that is there.

I just went up Iron Mountain and saw that the massive pile of
magazine/book trash is still up here. I shed a tear for the poor
soul that thought it was a good idea to train with extra weight
using magazines (My theory to why they are here).

Back in 2009 zatyko organized a CITO to clean this up. They
made a big dent but there is still plenty of trash to remove. In honor of this I will also be providing donuts at the summit, much like zatyko did back in 2009.
With all the recent Hall of Fame seekers this is a good reason to come
out and remove more trash.

Time: 9am, ThePolarBear and I will be hitting the trail at 7:30am.

Parking: There is now a nice parking lot at the trailhead complete with bathrooms.

Place: Iron Mountain Summit. From the trail head it is about
3 miles and 1000ft of elevation gain.

So bring your large backpack that you don't mind getting dirty, 1
or 2 heavy duty trash bags, water, and gloves. Even if you can't
carry a lot, every magazine counts! Even a GeoDog could carry 1 or
two back down.
