July Web Design Meetup

Details
Anyone interested in web design or development can attend: whether you're a website owner, a full or part-time designer or developer, or a student.
We're meeting at the Pierce County Library again since they have a large meeting room and free wireless access. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Agenda
I'm sure we'll have a great helping of our normal, free-form discussion, but we're also planning to have a few highlight presentations including:
Installing and Configuring WordPress (https://wordpress.org)
Installing and Configuring Drupal (https://drupal.org/)
In both cases, we'll be installing on a local development machine (most likely my laptop), which runs Linux. If you'd like to bring a laptop and follow along or get help installing on your OS of choice, we'll be happy to help out.
In both cases, we'll talking a bit about the general functionality, how to extend with plugins, using and modifying themes, and any questions.
If you're running Ubuntu Linux, you may want to check out this tutorial on configuring a local webserver (https://www.lullabot.com/videocast/install-local-web-server-ubuntu).
If you're using Windows or Mac, you might want to check out XXAMP (https://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html), an easy way to setup a local development server.
Feel free to bring:
- laptop if you have one
- questions, tips, rants & problems
- examples of sites you're working on or like
- resources to share with others - links, book reviews, etcetera
