GDI Hack Night

Bring all your projects, ideas and questions for a night hanging out and working with other friendly coders. Any language, niche or skill level (including absolute beginners!) is welcome.

Don't have a project yet? Just decided to start learning to code? Interested in finding out what Girl Develop It Columbus is all about? Great! Come to Hack Night - you'll fit right in. :)

If we're lucky, Head Chef Carl will also be making us dinner! (Look for a note from Carl in the Meetup comments below to find out if dinner will be provided.)

----

Lastly, a big shout-out to our Hack Night sponsor, CoverMyMeds! They're a fantastic company that helps doctors and pharmacists improve patients' lives. (And they also, coincidentally, have an amazing in-house chef.) Basically, we're huge fans, so go check them out!

Hi everyone I was so hoping to get out and meet the Columbus tech community! Unfortunately I got off of work too late. I will definitely be at the next meet up :-)

I've been sick for the past couple days and still not feeling 100%. Still couch and jammies time. Miss you all, and of course Carl's chili.

Hope it's ok to post this here - I have 3 positions available in our Columbus office (2 sr. devs and 1 jr. dev). I work in NYC (and work with our Columbus group regularly) -- we share info, have fun, develop amazing software and are a very collaborative team. We're mostly interested in HTML5/CSS3/Javascript, and I'm helping to train our teams in Angular (we're fans of Angular + web sockets). *IF* someone is looking for work, please contact me at [masked] - would be happy to give some details. I'm not a recruiter/get nothing for this other than helping people find positions (and of course my team in NYC gets to work with our team in Columbus). Thanks!

Drew - I'll post this to our LinkedIn group and include it in the mailing list email this week as well, if you're cool with that. Thanks for thinking of our members!

Kim - of course! Thanks for doing that. Also, I reached out to this group since yours is the most popular in the Columbus area for web technologies, and we have the junior position if someone is newer to technology. It is corporate, competitive salary, full benefits, I love working with my teammates. We will also train if devs have html5/CSS/js experience but are new to angularJs. Thanks again for allowing this message on your event board! [masked]

I am excited because I have been trying to get to meeting for over a year when I connected with the Las Vegas group for ideas on supporting March 8th International Women's Day I host and helping with some TECH minded ideas.

I'm a first timer and I'm excited to meet you all! When I get to Wild Goose, will it be fairly obvious where the meeting is?

It's going to be cold Wednesday. How does chili sound for dinner? I'm thinking traditional, white chicken and vegan.

      Yay chili! :D

I'm new to Columbus and don't really know people. I want to take off in my career as a developer and am anxious to learn. I've learned html and css, and started teaching myself Java and Ajax. I really need to just get with others and learn!

You're in the right place, then! The GDI hack night is a great place for that. :-) Welcome!
