This 4 part Beyond the Basics with HTML/CSS course runs on Tuesday evenings: March 4th, March 11th, March 18th and March 25th. Classes run from 7:00 - 9:00pm. This is the follow-up course to Newbie HTML/CSS.
Ready to expand your knowledge of HTML & CSS? This class is for you!
Through the course of this four-part class, you'll get a thorough introduction to HTML5 and CSS3 to build on your previous knowledge. You'll get hands-on experience working with HTML5 features like semantic elements and forms, and you'll learn new CSS3 properties and abilities including transformations, transitions, and animation. Finally, we'll dig into responsive design and browser compatibility.
You'll leave with readily-applicable skills and we'll be there to answer any questions you may have along the way!
To get the most out of this class, you should have a working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS. You may have taken Newbie HTML/CSS through Girl Develop It, or maybe you have built a site for fun.
Your Teacher: Cindy Payne
Cindy is currently an IT Architect with Nationwide Insurance, but spent most of her career building websites. Software engineering is her second career, after going back to school to get a Computer Science degree 12 years ago. As she was encouraged by a programmer long ago, she teaches and TAs to encourage others to pursue careers in IT. It's never too late!
Your laptop. Note: A netbook or tablet is NOT a substitute.
A modern browser with either Chrome or both Firefox and Firebug installed.
A text editor. We recommend Sublime Text 2. (It's free and available for both Mac and PC).
Refund Policy: Your payment of $80 guarantees your seat in the entire course. Please note that we cannot issue refunds, since there's an overhead to issuing refunds via Meetup.com and we already offer the workshops at such a low cost. We put proceeds into the chapter fund, which we use as our scholarship fund.
Other Disclaimers: Our program and curriculum are geared toward adults over the age of 18; at this time we do not accept minors as students in our courses and workshops.
We can also offer possible scholarships! If you have questions about scholarships or any of the above, please contact Kim ([masked]).
