Announcing a new Meetup for Glass Half Full!

What: Way Wicked Walla Walla Wine Wonderfulness!!

When: Tuesday, September 28,[masked]:00 PM
Price: $11.00 per person

Where: Blackbird Wines 4323 NE Fremont Portland, OR 97213

That's right everyone, we've got Walla Walla, Washington wines at this meetup!!

Actual people from the winery will represent their winery tonight!
Tonight we'll be tasting from two of the 65+ wineries located in the Walla Walla AVA (American Viticultural Area) . You won't find these on grocery store shelves; these are boutique wines made with care and attention to detail.

Here's the juicy tidbits:
We'll be tasting a total of 6 wines. If you'd like a full glass of your favorite during or after the tasting, they'll be available to purchase. In addition, for this night only there will be discounts!! You know I love a deal!!! ;-))

But best of all, the people pouring the wines know these wines. These aren't some grocery clerks reading off the back label. We get to meet the people who know these wines!! As such, we're going to be a little more formal about order of wines and hear a little bit about each one as we're sampling it. So, while you can catch up if you're late, you'll want to try to get there as close to 6PM as you can to get the full experience.

The wineries:
Dumas Station Wines
Founded in 2003 to focus on Bordeaux style red wines made from estate grown Walla Walla grapes. Dumas Station Winery produces limited amounts of wine using the combined 60+ years of wine making experience.
Nearly all of their grapes come from Minnick Hills Vineyard, located 3 miles north of Walla Walla along the Middle Waitsburg road. The vineyard lies on a southwest facing slope ranging from 1050 feet to 1200 feet in elevation.

They'll be pouring their 2006 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon that just received 93 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, and 2007 Cow Catcher Red, that received 91 points from Seattle Met Magazine, and was rated #53 on their list of "Top 100 Washington Wines."

From our first release in 1997, Reininger wines have possessed a unique quality derived from the winemaker?s awareness of and passion for the natural elements that make great wines.
They will be pouring from their Helix line of handcrafted wines.
