June Golang meetup

Details

The second Golang meetup will be held on Wednesday 26th of June (despite the meetup name, it will be held in Utrecht this time, at the office of Bol.com)! If you want to learn what other people and companies are building with Go, this is your change to find it out and to meet them!

The format will be 2x a presentation of 30 minutes and several slots for lightning talks (of about 5 minutes). Please leave a comment or send me an e-mail when you're interested in giving a presentation or lightning talk!

Doors will open at 18:00h (there will be some food!), presentations start at 18:45h.

Looking forward to meet you then!

Presentations:

Geert-Johan: How to create solid high-performance communication between Go and other languages? Threft.io (http://threft.io/) improves Thrift (http://thrift.apache.org/), and combines great design principles from Protobuf (https://developers.google.com/protocol-buffers/) and the Go project. (cancelled) Ernest: go-restful (https://github.com/emicklei/go-restful), a package to build REST-based webservices in Go. Your presentation? Lightning talks:

Your lightning talk?

Last update

As you might have noticed, there is only one presentation announced (so far) for the Wednesday meetup. We've been thinking about other activities for this meetup and one of our ideas is to fill the remaining time with a few coding challenges (which of course you should solve in Go; if you've never done anything in Go, this will be a good way to get started!).

So make sure to bring your laptop if you have one! If you don't have one, you can always pair-program with somebody else :-)

If you have other suggestions for other activities, please let me know.
