I bet you think this winter will never end, huh? Well the Accuweather report starting this Sunday through next Sunday has highs as follows: 39, 42, 46, 49, 52, and 41.
We are entering good enough weather to consider some quasi outdoor meetups.
One option is Top Golf. What's Top Golf, you say?
Top Golf is located in Wood Dale. It is outdoors but has walls, a ceiling, and two heat lamps per stall. You hit golf balls off a mat like at a range, but the golf balls have computer chips in them. The targets are flags that have giant grids around them with dozens of holes. If you hit into the grid, the ball is registered by computer. The closer you get to the flag, the more points you get. Top Golf also has food and drinks delivered right to your stall. Pretty cool. Here's a link.
Another option is a heated driving range such as the Golf Center in Des Plaines. They too have some walls (plexiglass partitions), a ceiling, and heat lamps. They are cheaper than Top Golf but less like a game (we can make up our own challenges, however).
Let me know your thoughts or if you have other suggestions.
