I just wanted to let you know about a few cool things;
1) New Work City
, the co-working space where we had our last meetup, is having a Halloween Masquerade Ball
. No "sexy pirate" or "Inappropriate Brett Favre" costumes here. Nope, just real nice people dressed in nice costumes listening to some live music, dancing, and sippin' fine spirits - real high-class stuff. Tickets are normally $35 for non-NWC members, but if you apply the discount code "grcamp" you'll get it for just $30 per person, or $55 for a couple. That price includes beer and wine, and snacks too. Sounds like fun! RSVP here for the event which takes place this Saturday
, a new online donation tool, is looking for some folks to come do a focus group
about how their site can best help raise money for non-profit causes. The focus group will be led by GiveLoop founder Todd Spitz and he'll be providing a free lunch
for anyone willing to help out. The focus group is going to be held at NWC (412 Broadway) on Friday November 6th at 1:00pm so if you can pop out for lunch that day, and you're interested in learning a little more about online donation tools and helping them get better, come on by. RSVP to [address removed]
to let him know that you're coming. Focus group will be limited to 8 people.
3) Our next meetup, What Mattered: Online Organizing in the 2010 Elections
is going to be Wednesday Nov. 3rd; exciting
post-election breakdown from Colin Delaney (epolitics.com
) and Bob
). Should be an interesting conversation! Make sure
you RSVP at http://www.grassrootscamp.org
4) If you were at the last meetup and you had a beer, or if you want to come to the next meet and want to have a beer, make sure you give us a few bucks - I set up a donation site with GiveLoop to make it easier. Beer it forward!
Thanks. As always, if you have any questions feel free to drop me a note.
