Last night's event was a tremendous success - many thanks to Ethan and Annie of ListenIn Pictures and Rob Wu of CauseVox for their presentations. For those of you who missed it, we will be posting the video online of the event once it's edited a bit. And of course, you can still get the free Starter Guide to Non-Profit Video Storytelling ebook authored by last-night's presenters at StartStorytelling.com.
On another note, I know that many members of GRC are also members of New York Tech Meetup. NYTM is holding board elections now, and there are many great people vying for a position on the board, but for me one in particular stands out as the clear choose for do-gooders; Jonathan Askin. Jonathan presented at GRC a few months ago and has promised to do so again every semester, helping social entrepreneurs get some free legal advice through his clinic at Brooklyn Law. Jonathan is a stand up guy and I think he'd make a great, socially conscious addition to the NYTM board of directors. You can read his personal statement here.
Voting for board members is open to active NYTM members until December 20th. Cast your vote at http://vote.nytm.org/polls/3.
For those of you who were at last night's event and want to learn more about Goodnik.org, feel free to write to me at [address removed]. We're not officially launched yet (not until January) but you are able to post jobs/projects and events on the site and we do have a small but growing private beta audience who are helping refine the site. We're still looking for some coding and design help, as well as some additional people to help plan more events in the coming year.
