Join GDGsf for a night of design and prototyping!
This event can benefit current and aspiring developers who want to learn design fundamentals that will help them make better apps, software and websites. There will be a presentation followed by a hands-on workshop where you can try to apply Google Material designs to your own app.
You will learn:
• Why design is important in the success of a product
• Design Thinking and basic principles
• Considerations in the design process and storytelling
• How to have a great relationship with your designers
• Google Material design principles - the development process and thinking
• Paper prototyping/wireframing: Why it's important to test early and iterate on designs

About Our Speaker

Jay Wong is a UI designer and prototyper on Hangouts at Google. Before moving to San Francisco, she hailed from Sydney, Australia where she studied computer science, visual communication and digital media whilst running her startup, Omnomnom Studios; a small software development and design studio. With a passion for teaching, Jay regularly teaches courses on design fundamentals for developers, and introductions to HTML/CSS for non-developers internally at Google, and previously taught HCI at the University of New South Wales.
