GOT-OC hiking in Carbon Canyon

Details
It's time to hike it out once again Got-OCers. And this time we will be heading out to Carbon Canyon Regional Park. This is one of my favorite trails and it is definitely an easy hike for those starting out, or starting anew after a long break. There's plenty of you who have hiking listed as an interest on your profile, so come out and join me.
We will be meeting in the parking lot near the Imterpretive Center. Once you enter the park take a left turn and follow the road until it ends. You can find me in the parking lot, probably sitting on a lawn chair right behind my car.
The trail itself is a 3.9 mile loop that will take us along a creek bed out to a grove of California Redwoods. (Yes, Redwoods in SoCal) But we will be veering off the course once we get to the trees, and follow the dam route back and through the park. While the route itself is fairly flat, the sandy trail does provide a decent workout. There will be a few minor inclines for us to follow, but overall this is an easy hike with some interesting views along the way.
There is a $5 fee to enter the park, and I recommend bringing cash to pay for entry.
This hike is dog friendly, provided you keep your pooch on a leash at all times, and bring clean up provisions in case fido has to take care of business along the way. I am estimating that this hike will be no more than 2 hours.
It is the warm time of year, so please bring water and wear sunscreen/hat as you feel necessary.
Get Out There, Orange County. And explore some of the interesting areas we drive by all the time.
