Calgary's First-Ever Speed Gaming Event!

Hey GotWood peeps, we've got another event for you, if you'd like to try out something different than our usual Settlers tourny!

Love board games? Want to meet some new people? Then Speed Gaming is for you!

Speed Gaming is a fun way to meet new people who share a love of games. Everyone who attends is randomly assigned to a game station for a 30 minute gaming session. When it's over, people get randomly assigned to a different station and it starts all over again. Simple!

For our inaugural event we will be playing some fun, silly, basic party games (Taboo, Cards Against Humanity, Cranium, Werewolf, etc.) geared towards making new friends while having lots of fun!

The format will be as follows:

1:30 Registration. Grab a drink, get comfortable.
2:00 First Session begins with intros/icebreaker/rules.
2:15 Start your game!
2:45 End game. Break/grab a drink/chat.
3:00 Second Session begins with intros/icebreaker/rules.
3:15 Start your game!
3:45 End game. Break/grab a drink/chat.
4:00 Last Session begins with intros/icebreaker/rules.
4:15 Start your game!
4:45 End game.
5:00 Wrap Up. Feel free to hang out and play more games with some friends new and old.

Each of the games above are super fun and were chosen because they force people to interact with one another (often in hilarious ways), which is a great way to meet new people.

Our inaugural event will be held on Sunday, April 7 at Gamer Sundays at Dickens Pub. Gamer Sundays happens every Sunday at Dickens Pub where the entire pub is open to all sorts of gaming whether it be table, board, video, card or other. You can bring your own games from home to play, and the house has a broad selection of games to play as well. Feel free to stick around after our event and continue playing!
