Hello, fellow Travelers that go with the flow!
As you know, I recently became the Organizer for the group when the former Organizer felt that he needed to step down for personal reasons (but has stayed on to help, when needed! Yeah!), so I am feeling my way down the hallways of being the Organizer for such a large group and learning a lot as I go. One of the things I have noticed is that one of the requirements for memberships is shown to be that each member must have a personal photo, that is a picture of YOU, so that we will know who we are looking for when we are gathering for a meetup, and/or travelling together. I can assure you that we do not judge anybody by appearance, but it simply makes everyone much more comfortable to know who we are gathering with.
That said, holding by the rules that were established long before I came along, I have had to deny membership to a couple of people recently because they didn't have their own portrait, but had something of interest to them -- a pretty place, their pet, a flower, etc. I didn't like have to do that. I did ask them to upload a photo and re-apply. I didn't like having to do that, but the rule is there for a reason. I do not think it is fair to hold new members to this standard and yet have so many current members who do not have a current photo reflected, so I am asking each of you personally to please comply and post your own photo in the group if you have not already done so. You can post a pic in this group without having it show up on your other meetups.
This will definitely be a requirement in the future to be allowed to attend any of our planned meetups in order to make it easier for the Host or Hostess to gather everyone who is supposed to be there and to feel comfortable when someone approaches.
Thank you all for your cooperation.
