GDC Stall Fresher's week

Hi All

One thing we have wanted to do for a long time is to have our members run GDC stall in Fresher's week. We feel it would be a great way to get more new members to join the GDC, and at a time where our Meet a Mentor events can make a real impact and truly help new students. We have just confirmed our first space at Queen Mary, which is going to be run by GDC Student Ambassador, Paul Turkson (thanks Paul). I am interested to hear if any of you have run these tables before and if anyone has any interesting links, tips or advice. I'd love to hear anything personally if you're happy to have a chat or write an email I'd really appreciate it. Alternatively Barry will be at the Developer Sessions on Tuesday if anyone can make it along? Please let me know on nm(at)recworks(dot)co(dot)uk
On top of this, if you're interested in running a GDC table of your own within your university, then please let me know and we'll take care of all the organisation.

We at RecWorks are a consultancy that blend RECruitment services and social netWORKS to bring the entire industry closer together and source the best talent on the market, specialising in Java and Graduate placements. Our business model does away with the traditional cold calling/aggressive recruitment approach, we are trying to reinvent tech recruitment and improve the entire industry through building active communities, organising events and initiatives and connecting people in new and unique ways, in return we rely heavily on referrals and recommendations, so if you like what we do and know people looking for new roles, please do let others know about it. We founded the London Java Community in November 2007 and run regular events to help develop the Java Community in London. The London Java Community now has over 2000 members.
