The MBS Group is working on the realisation of a new information service for senior business executives. A highly capable tech team is currently working on the development of the technology needed to drive this new type of context intelligent discovery engine. The project is treated as a separate start-up company focusing on the provision of accurate and contextually appropriate information to senior executives in the business world. How we work
We currently have a team of 7 people from diverse functional backgrounds that work closely together in bringing this project forward. Discussions about perceived challenges are frequent and the different perspectives generally aid the definition of the key factors within each challenge.
The development of the technological solution will combine technology from several research fields, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and information retrieval. We are working in close collaboration with several university-based research teams that provide input specific to their research fields.
We are looking for a candidate who is ambitious, entrepreneurial and ready to buy into the long-term vision for this project.
The ideal candidate should share our innovative values and be self-motivated. Excellent communication skills, being open-mind and inquisitive and having the desire to learn new skills are essential to thrive in our fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
The ideal candidate holds a degree in a relevant discipline or has completed at least 2+ years of their undergraduate degree.
Currently the existing team is primarily working on the development of the required back-end infrastructure, modules, and their integration. As the foundation is well on its way to completion, the system starts to deliver output for our analysts and beta users.
The intern will help us create web- and mobile interfaces for the information service. To make sure these interfaces align appropriately with the information service, the intern will work closely with our back-end development team, our market researchers, and the various user groups. During the period the intern will be exposed to a variety of technological disciplines, from machine learning, Natural Language Processing, information retrieval, cloud based software, big data and text analytics, and will gain some hands on experience in a number of these fields.
The candidate is flexible, knowledgeable, and has the ability to communicate with people from various backgrounds, and transform their inputs into a world-class application using well-written and standards-compliant code.
• The ideal candidates will have experience with or an awareness of these skills:
o Java programming
o XML document handling and manipulation
o Software collaboration and revision control (Git / SVN)
o No-SQL and relational databases
o Experience with Agile software development
o Knowledge of Test Driven Development
• Deliver best-in-class front-end code
• Possess knowledge of web and mobile UX/UI
• Develop and test across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices, including smartphones and tablets
