Graph Modeling Do's and Don'ts

Since many people have been asking for some graph modeling guidelines, we are going to spend this meetup talking about best practices, pitfalls and techniques to get you going with a graph-based datamodel.

The agenda is straightforward:

• 18h-18h30: Welcome - we will provide some light food and drinks

• 18h30-19h30: Presentation by Mark Needham, Neo Technology

• 19h30-20h: Q&A, discussion

• 20h-21: Networking and drinks.

Our friends at Glimworm have kindly offered to provide the location - so we look forward to seeing you all there!

Very interesting meetup thanks again! I'm slowly beginning to appreciate how organisation might actually use a graph database solution (often along side other more traditional relational database solutions) and when they might choose a graph database solution instead of a regular database or hadoop mapreduce. Still an awful still to be learnt ;)

Hi Tri, the introduction tutorial was yesterday, and the Production tutorial was canceled due to lack of attendees. Sorry for that.

Although I missed the aforementioned "best practices, pitfalls and techniques to get me going with a graph db model", I picked up some interesting thoughts on this matter (Mark, thanks for the lively presentation!) and.... I just downloaded the free ebook on Graph databases! Those 200+ pages will keep me quiet for a while :) Would have loved to hear more of real life cases of customer implementations and/or when to stick to a rdbms. Maybe next time?
