Mah Jong is an ancient Chinese tile game of strategy and luck. The tiles are like a deck of cards. There are four of each tile in four suits: three suits numbered 1-9 (Dots, Bamboos, Characters) and one suit (Honors) consisting of Winds (East, South, West, North) and Dragons (Red, White, Green). There are also flowers used as bonus tiles. The goal is to gather four sets (three in a sequence [chow] and/or three of a kind [pung] or four of a kind [kong]) and a pair to win or "Mah Jong".
Beginners welcome ~ we are happy to teach and it's easy to learn. Men and women, young and old, singles and couples: if you enjoy playing card games like Rummy, you will love this!
We play both Cantonese and American styles at this time :)

I am hoping to meet some people from the Woodstock area that will be interested in getting together to play Mah Jong once I get more experience and my own set. Hope you join us at CHAMPPs one Friday.
