When Will Robert Pittenger Commit to Defunding ObamaCare?

Dear NC Patriot,

Over the past few months, we've kept you apprised of the fight to stop implementation of ObamaCare.  Thanks to your grassroots pressure, the NC General Assembly has passed Senate Bill 4, which will return the $74 million in ObamaCare Bribe Money Bev Perdue accepted last November, opt NC out of a state-run ObamaCare Exchange, and prohibit the expansion of Medicaid as called for by ObamaCare.  Senate Bill 4 will go into effect as soon as it's signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory.

S 4 is a good start, and successfully completes Steps 1 and 2 of the 3-step process of stopping ObamaCare in its tracks.  However, there's still the matter of the Federal-run ObamaCare Exchange that Washington is set to impose on North Carolina starting next year!

That's where the Republican-controlled House of Representatives comes in.  Later this month, we will cross a deadline which will require the Congress to adopt a new budget or Continuing Resolution to fund the government through the rest of this year.  Since our Constitution requires that all spending bills originate in the House of Representatives, the Republicans who control the House have a unique opportunity to neutralize ObamaCare once and for all: by de-funding it.

A coalition of conservatives in the House led by Jim Bridenstine of Oklahoma and Tim Huelskamp of Kansas have been building up support to do just that.  They're circulating a petition letter to Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor demanding that they not allow any appropriations bill, budget, or Continuing Resolution to reach the House floor which contains any funding whatsoever for ObamaCare.  Without funding, the Federal-run Exchanges the President wants to impose on the states cannot function.  With so many states having already opted out of state-run exchanges, the combination of state and Congressional action would cause the whole healthcare takeover to collapse in on itself.

Unfortunately, North Carolina's own Robert Pittenger, newly-elected to the 9th District congressional seat, hasn't signed on!  I'm asking you to call him today at (202)[masked] and ask him when he intends to join the fight to stop President Obama's healthcare takeover.

Grassroots activists have done great work holding our newly-elected Republican governor and Republican supermajority in the General Assembly to account and getting great legislation passed to stop ObamaCare at the state level.  Now we need our representatives in Congress to help us finish the fight!  Call Congressman Pittenger today and tell him to GET IN THE GAME!

P.S.

When will Congressman Robert Pittenger sign the Defund ObamaCare letter urging Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor to refuse to pass any Continuing Resolution that doesn't defund ObamaCare? Call him today at (202)[masked] and ask him!
