Are yinz guys interested in going green? Or do you just have a green thumb n'at?

Are you trying to live better, eat locally, or do you want to help create a more sustainable Pittsburgh? Do you want to meet other people in the area that enjoy farmer's markets and learning about composting? Are you thinking about an organic lifestyle but feel overwhelmed by it all, and are just looking to ease into the whole thing? Well, me too!

A few friends and myself have decided to take the steps to live greener, eat "more-ganic" and have fun while doing it! We also figured that there were others out there that were just as intimidated as us to make the switch to a healthier and more eco-friendly life- so we created this group.

We are looking to meet a couple of times a month to talk about composting and buying locally as well as swapping recipes and just mingle. We are planning potlucks, nature walks, garden parties, trips to local farms, wineries and organic restaurants- as well as changing the image of GOING GREEN. We are not militant zealots that want to stop people from living, but people looking to live eco-friendly and socially responsible- with an emphasis on living in Pittsburgh (an urban society).

We are a diverse group, looking to add more diversity- vegans as well as meat lovers are welcome. We encourage discussions on "hot topics" but THIS IS NOT A DEBATE GROUP- so PLEASE leave your judgements and preaching elsewhere- there is room for everyone! We encourage people to share their viewpoints and opinions, but are not looking to convert anyone, or promote any lifestyle over another.

So whether you are looking to make a small change like trying out MEATLESS MONDAYS once a month, or going the whole way and selling your car and living in a tree, come on out and meet us!

Free to join, but donations fuel the events!  Give if you are able!  If not, help out in other ways - host an event, offer to carpool, and of course, goodies are always welcome!
