White House Maker Faire - Social 06/18/14

We celebrate with our nation as the White House recognizes the maker movement with a Maker Faire of their own! Join us at the space from 6 PM to 10PM to share the nations commitment to what it means to make and help plan how we, as a group, will make the Grand Rapids Mini Maker Faire one of the best! If we could ask a favor of you... There is a twitter campaign going on Wednesday for all spaces/makers to post pictures of their projects using the hashtag #nationofmakers. We want to do this! Send your pictures of project to us via email (best if you send it to josh @grmakers.com) or post on Facebook/Twitter and we'll add it.

Did you see that, thanks to Joe Simon, we have access to our own portable forging rig? If not, it will be demonstrated this week by Joe and Amy during the social where we melt some metal. We are very excited to see this in operation!

Also, don't forget to sign up for the new and improved 'What's Going On?' and get your ideas out there for collaboration! We have been a little slim on people talking recently so there are plenty of openings.

Donations of drinks or snacks are ALWAYS welcome for these socials. Feel free to share with your other makers.

GRMakers socials are hosted in our indoor space in the main building at 401 Hall St SW Suite 185. We ask that you park on the north side of the building by the Boiler Room, but you will enter the main building opposite the Boiler Rooms main door, go up one floor and our location is the large space on the right side of the hall.
