Dear GTD-DCists!

I hope this message finds you well and being productive!

UPDATED AGENDA: I've updated this Meetup agenda for our March 10th meetup. For more details, see the full listing: I have pasted the new agenda at the end of this message for your review. Please be punctual so we can stay on schedule!

GUEST SPEAKER: I'm very excited that we'll be having a guest speaker, Bev Hitchins, present on the topic of Core Skills, Tools & Strategies: Decluttering & Organizing. I know that's a challenge for everyone and I think always an area where we can use a refresher, so I look forward to us having a great time with Bev.

ADJUSTED DATE: Wednesday, March 10,[masked]:30 PM (Note we're not meeting on our normal every third Wednesday because of the St. Patrick's Day holiday being March 17th. We will resume our regularly scheduled third Wednesdays in April.)

Cosi (Rosslyn)

Warmest regards,

DC GTD Meetup Agenda - March 10, 2010 at 7:30PM

I. Introductions + Overview (7:30 PM)

Each member will introduce himself/herself, tell us what you do professionally, your history with GTD, and a recent success/challenge with your GTD implementation. We'll give a few minutes to discuss solutions to the challenges we all share.

II. Core Skills, Tools & Strategies (Core STS): Decluttering & Organizing (8:00 PM - 8:30PM)

8:00 - 8:20: Special Guest Speaker: Bev Hitchins
8:20 - 8:30: Question & Answer

About our guest speaker:
Bev Hitchins is President of ALIGN, A Unique and Integrative Approach to Clutter and Balance. When her mother died in 1990, she drove a huge truck with contents from her mother?s home in Florida to Virginia where she promptly put it in storage for 9 years. Only in 1999 did she begin the de-cluttering process, which led to starting a thriving de-cluttering/organizing business in 2005. Her comments are based on own de-cluttering process as well as that of her clients. She?ll discuss what clutter is, why we have it, and ways to deal with it. You can get a flavor for her approach and philosophy from her website: and her blog

III. GTD Concept for Discussion: 20,000 feet: Areas of Responsibility (8:30/8:35PM)

In GTD, we learn about the Six-Level Model for Reviewing Your Own Work, and following the altitude metaphor that DAllen uses, after we pass the runway (next actions) and 10,000 feet (projects) we get to 20,000 feet, Areas of Responsibility. March's discussion will be on the groups' thoughts about defining, mapping out, reviewing, planning and managing based on this concept.

IV. GTD Resource Sharing (this would be where everyone can offer a book (8:50PM)
title, tip/trick or item that has helped them in their life either with GTD or

V. Announcements / Closing Remarks (8:55 PM)
