As the summer is coming we are heading towards quiet times, so a summer party is in order, on Thursday at 1800. In good weather, we can grill, and in bad weather we can trade jokes and plot hacks over beers and beverages inside the space while listening to tunes and playing eyecandy on the big screen.
What have we been up to lately?
Here is a quick retrospective and heads up for all hackers.
We aren't moving. There is nobody around with that kind of energy, and the possible sites have been investigated and were found lacking. Instead, we have focused on improving the physical space!
• We've gotten rid of garbage and clutter
• We have a new stage and new floors and even spot lights,
• We have moved hackeriet stuff into the science lab,
which is refurbished, in good clean condition and
ready for use.
• Even the toilets have been refurbished, with a good nice bleach scrub,
• A coat of paint on the walls and new porcelain.
We lost a sound mixer to theft due to a bug in the door system code, but the bug has been found and fixed and we have another mixer.
Refurbs have been a massive job and we are finally ready to take on organizing workshops again.
Workshops are the bread and butter of our hackerspace, our raison d'etre.
Ellen did an awesome job organizing workshops in previous years, and this fall maybe one of you can pick up the hat? We have plenty of leads, but we need someone to run them up and find dates to put them on.
If you are interested in attending a talk or workshop, or if you have a topic you would like to talk about, now is the time to let us know.
Allright, see you Thursday at the summer party. When you come, take a moment to look around and marvel at how nice it has become :-)
