HackerNest Toronto March Tech Social
Details
HackerNest: uniting local tech communities, one Tech Social and several hundred bottles of beer at a time. We cram lots of very smart people into a room, provide free beer, then watch the fireworks.
Every month, we rescue a few hundred nerds from basements, offices, and the plight of code tunnel vision. This is one of the few social events you can go to where people will actually understand what you're talking about - and give a damn.
So come out, have a drink, relax, talk tech. Easy.
Looking for something/someone in particular? Connect using our Top Secret HackerNest Splinter Cell Communication Network. (http://hackernest.com/forums/topic/44-toronto-tech-social-mar-25/)

Stuff:
A few crazy coders over at OANDA decided to build some sort of mind-trading thing they'll demo. You're either exchanging brains with someone or controlling financial trades with brain activity; either way, pretty slick. Our first Kitchener-Waterloo Tech Social went well – we now have a splinter cell there. Hook in: http://meetup.com/HackerNestKW (https://www.meetup.com/HackerNestKW) APRIL 29TH Tech Social (https://www.meetup.com/HackerNest/events/96750002/) collaboration with Girls in Tech (http://girlsintechto.com): in the spirit of equal representation and kicking gender stereotypes in the face, we’re pushing hard for a 1:1 female-to-male ratio. Heavy-hitter tech entrepreneurs Judy Sims of Shopcaster (http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/judy-sims/1/b61/b61) and Chris Ye of Uken Games (http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/chris-ye/15/169/982) are speaking. Space Apps Toronto (http://spaceappstoronto.com) is coming! Why not form a team on the forums (http://hackernest.com/forums/forum/27-toronto/)? FITC Toronto (http://fitc.ca/event/to13/) is coming! We got a sweet review (http://www.freeeventreviews.com/strictly-social/hackernest-monthly-tech-social/) (hint hint). Thanks Adam (https://www.meetup.com/HackerNest/members/68846522/)! Huge thanks to our sponsors for making all this possible – Kaboom Technologies (http://kaboomtech.com), Kendo UI (http://kendoui.com), and OANDA (http://oanda.com) -- and also Polar Mobile (http://polarmobile.com) for hosting us!
