Hack Reactor is contributing to The Last Mile prison education program. Come to this event to learn more about the program, meet the staff that are organizing the effort, learn how you can help, and make your first commit to the curriculum!

What is TLM?(If you came to our last meetup, you can skip this section.)
The Last Mile is a program for inmates at San Quentin prison. It's been going on for years now, teaching people entrepreneurial skills, but the program's director -- Chris Redlitz, a local VC -- would like to switch the focus and teach inmates to code. Hack Reactor is TLM's primary partner in this endeavor, and will be creating the curriculum (basic front-end web developer skills, so a bit of a shift from HR's curriculum) and teaching it to inmates over the 6-month program. You can help by adopting a repo (just like a regular Hack Reactor 2-day sprint) and creating content for it, including a README, lesson outline, reference material and coding exercises for the students. I have no idea where to start?!

No problem! We have a whole system in place to help you create an awesome repo in just a few hours. Just bring your laptop, come hang out with us and pitch in for a great cause!
