This is the first meeting of Hack/Hackers Dublin. It's going to be a very informal affair, where journalists and programmers can meet up to discuss ideas around new media formats. Our first meet-up will feature a short talk from Paul Watson, CTO at Storyful. The meet-up is also coinciding with DCU's media conference held earlier that day. Hacks/Hackers will be attending and promise to drag along some of the speakers to the Library bar that evening. The conference (http://www.mediaconferencedcu.com/) features some of the worlds leading experts on the changing media landscape including NPR's Andy Carvin and author of 'We the media', Dan Gillmor. The meeting is open to anyone with an interest, hope to see you all there on Monday the 16th.

Well done on organising last night's event. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am now looking forward to the next one - and to sampling more m&ms! Thanks also for highlighting the multi-search tool - am looking forward to using it in my work. - @eocaollai

Hi Bahareh,
Great to see this happening. I think there could be some synergies between this group & our IoT Dublin group. Unfortunately I'm out of town on Monday, but I would welcome catching up with you afterwards and finding out how your event went.
Best regards, and good luck, Ciarán.

Meetup has allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met naturally - they're totally different than me.

I think most people at last week's event seemed to enjoy the occasion. I've written a short description of the proceedings here. http://hujo.deri.ie/hackshackers-gets-dublin-reboot/
