Join us at 6:45 p.m. on Sept. 30 for a conversation with journalists from the graphics/interactives teams at FiveThirtyEight and The Upshot. We'll ask about their first few months post-launch – what they've tried, what they've learned, what successes they've had, what challenges they've faced, and how they approach making graphics & interactives for the web.
Schedule:
6:45 p.m.: Doors, dinner + socializing
~7:15 p.m.: Discussion with Ritchie S. King and Allison McCann (FiveThirtyEight) and Amanda Cox and Kevin Quealy (The Upshot)
~8:15 p.m.: Hiring announcements, networking and socializing
To attend Hacks/Hackers NYC's "So, how are you doing, FiveThirtyEight and The Upshot?", RSVP today ($10, payable in advance) to Hacks/Hackers NYC.
Refund policy: Cancel at least 24 hours before the event (that is, no later than 6:45 p.m. Sept. 29) to receive a full refund. We cannot issue refunds after that.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.

The acoustics were a problem at this meetup. It was very hard to hear the panel, especially since they were sitting. Perhaps you can consider bar stools so the panelists at least can sit up higher and be seen.
