The Boston Data Festival, which runs November 4–10, showcases the individuals, startups, and companies driving the data revolution in Boston and beyond. The event takes place at various venues in Cambridge and Boston and is managed by volunteers and organizers of various data-centric meetup groups. Most events are free and multiple events will be held every evening during the festival. For more information and to register visit www.bostondatafest.com.
The Boston Data Festival’s primary goal is to bring together the Boston data community for a week of energetic events at which to network, collaborate, and learn. Events kick off Monday November 4th with the very accomplished Dr. Kahn from AIG as keynote speaker followed up by an all-star data panel drawn from the world of venture capital, academia, and industry. Over the course of the week a wide variety of data-centric topics will be covered including data analytics, machine learning, big data, data visualization, and predictive analytics.
Specific session talks include mining highly imbalanced data, deep learning (the future of machine learning), and predicting stock prices with maximum accuracy. A hackathon, data-centric start-up showcase, and coding workshop for local high school students also feature as part of the seven-day event.
