Hacks/Hackers CO free workshop at Google Boulder

Details

Join us for a free mapping workshop at Google Boulder on Friday July 15.

The voting has closed and Hacks/Hackers members have decided our next workshop will be all about interactive maps!

We'll start with an introduction to Google's mapping tools and how you can use them to tell stories in visual and compelling ways, together with examples of how newsrooms are already using these tools.

The second half of the workshop will be much more hands on. You'll learn how to get started with My Maps, a tool that lets you create custom interactive maps to share and publish online—no programming required.

This workshop is suitable for all abilities. Please bring a laptop and create a Google account beforehand if you don't have one already.

The training will last around 90 minutes, after which we'll head over to Backcountry Pizza & Tap House (http://www.backcountrypizzaandtaphouse.com) for happy hour.

We look forward to seeing you there!
