Joint Hive-HUGUK meetup: Special event with MapR & Ted Dunning

New Venue

Additional Speaker

Jedidiah Francis, aka Jed the Lead Data Scientist at ASOS, will present how to schedule Hive jobs with Azure Data Factory. He is also working on lots of other interesting projects at ASOS like product recommendations so feel free to chat with him before the talks over a beer.

Ted Dunning's Topic

Many have voted on the poll and I am personally pleased with the chosen topic. Ted will talk about the "

Zeta Architecture (Hadoop, Spark, Mesos)

". This is a hot topic at the West Coast and fittingly Ted will present from there via video link trying out a new format for meetups. Part of it is a question time alike an AMA where you can go off script and ask anything. Btw if you didn't know, Ted is the Chief Application Architect at MapR, committer and PMC member of the Apache Mahout, Apache ZooKeeper, and Apache Drill projects

Food & Drinks

We will have food before the event starts. We open the doors at 6:30pm and will order food and drinks to arrive shortly after that. So be on time if you want to grab a slice of pizza, have a drink and chat.
