Session I (6:30 - 7:00 PM) – Slider: your apps on YARN
The incubating Apache Slider project lets people run their own applications on a YARN cluster —without having to worry about YARN integration themselves. Slider launches the application, helps configure it and reacts to failures. All an application should need is configuration and launch data and scripts.
Steve will introduce slider, demonstrate it at work and discuss the opportunities that running applications in a YARN cluster can deliver.
