Old Noryangjin Fish Market (Noryangjin Station)

Hey everyone!

Inspired by a recent visit to the old Noryangjin Fish Market (my first visit in 10 years), I wanted to share the experience with others who have not gotten to visit the old market yet. The reason why? The old market is facing unfair closure due to the adjacent new market, which means the historic market and its unique atmosphere could be lost forever. This meetup will be part tour, part history lesson, and all gluttony for those who love seafood. And luckily, my recent visits allowed me to befriend some of the halmoni (grandma) vendors who were more than gracious with complimentary ("service") items, and they promised they would extend the same courtesy to friends and food members alike. To keep it short, you will be able to sample most of the following food that I was able to indulge in on my last trip (http://mykoreaneats.com/2016/06/noryangjin-fisheries/): king crab, raw fish (hwe), various shellfish, large prawns, giant scallops, live octopus, and some raw creatures. If you have no plans for this Saturday afternoon, come join the fun at Noryangjin!

We'll be meeting her along with other halmoni vendors on Saturday to purchase mentioned seafood.

Where: Everyone will meet outside exit 1 of Noryangjin Station (Line 1 or 9).

When: This Saturday, June 11th at 4:00pm. Please be on time! (Optional 2 cha)

Who: RSVP is limited to 10 members.

Food: Every seafood creature imaginable.

Price: 35,000 won for food (king crab, sashimi, shellfish, shrimp, etc.) and drinks (makgeolli or soda). There's a restaurant sit-down fee of 5,000 won person and cooking-fee of 5,000 per dish, both of which are included in the price tag.
