Meet other like-minded writers who are focused on improving their skills.
Some basic rules and regs:
This is a focused, serious group that works on writing and critiquing. Because of this, it requires REGULAR ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION. It is not a "motivation" group - we assume you know how to write, and that you can work through the stumbling blocks that affects all writers at some time. However, hanging out with like-minded folk is always inspirational.
Critiquing follows a basic format: plot, characters, setting, and language. Your comments should fit into those basic categories. It's a learning process, and we all have various levels of experience in critiquing (and writing). If you have never critiqued before, that is not a problem. We'll help you figure it out.
You will need to submit a writing sample which will be put before the group for acceptance. We try to be democratic about the whole thing! We accept most genres; there is limited feedback for poetry, since we work more in prose, and while screenwriters and playwrights are welcome, only a few of us can offer you knowledgeable critique.
