You are invited to attend this group for a unique experience in encounter with other individuals. The invitation is to stay as much as possible in the 'here and now', in order to maximize the opportunity for authentic meeting with others and with yourself.
Sunday 5th January 2014
Arrival from: 10.45am
Session time 11.00am - 1.00pm
Break: 12.00pm - 12.05pm
The group (6 – 12 people) will be peer-led
This group space offers the prospect of interpersonal meeting and process: encounter with others invariably invokes feelings inside the self, and this space offers the chance to experience and reflect on these. The unfolding of the group will be unpredictable and will offer the opportunity for unexpected dialogue and experience.
This group may have a few people from the CCI co-counselling/peer personal development network. These folk are mostly not professional therapists: they are people from all walks of life who do peer-counselling in order to further their personal growth and to live their lives creatively and productively.
''You get there by realising you are already there.''
- Eckhart Tolle
During the group
Here’s my advice:
The invitation is to stay in the here-and-now, to stay present, and notice your thoughts and feelings. Share these with the group, if you like.
Try to avoid explanations, and talking about ‘there and then’.
Say anything you like.
Please make sure you have read the page 'Read more about us'.
You may wish to read the pages entitled 'The benefits of Here and Now Groups', and 'Some Tips': click on the 'pages' link above.
>> VERY IMPORTANT>>: This group is not suitable for absolutely anyone: please read the warning at the foot of this page. If you are in any doubt please phone me, Richard Mills, on[masked]
Thanks to the group for sharing, and helping me to experience being in the moment and how that feels, in what felt like a very safe and supportive environment. I enjoyed today very much, I'd like to do it again....loads more to learn!
— Sharon Benford on Aug 31st, 2013.
I came with open mind but not really knowing what to expect - It was great. Thanks to the group for the most authentic and 'present' interaction i've had for a while. I learned some stuff about within today - always great when that happens. See you again!

Good to be in the group and a warm welcome back. The open & trusting environment made it possible to here+now and left me wanting to experience more. Good people; was nice to meet you all.

Joining instructions for this meeting
The room is of such a size and shape that we may sit on the floor and see each other, with our backs leaning against the wall for support.
Please bring a cushion to sit on if you wish.
There are a few spare cushions and yoga blocks to sit on.
There are chairs, if you want to use one.
Confidentiality: After the group, please don’t talk about what other people said or did, in such a way that they can be identified.
Drugs: Please do not arrive whilst under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs.
Drinks: In the work room, please do not drink anything except water.
Shoes: I have a preference for ‘shoes off’ but this is not a rule.
Perfumes: Please don't put lots of perfume on, as some people are allergic.
Oakwood House comprises the Co-Operative supermarket on the ground floor and offices on the first floor, and is at the bottom of the row of shops. We will be in Room 6 on the first floor. The entrance is to the left-hand side of the building, next-door to Lloyds TSB Bank. At the entrance there is an electronic entry-phone: press the buzzer marked 'Counselling Service' and I will let you in. I will meet you on the first floor. Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes early.
If you travel by car:
There is some on-street parking.
There is a small car park by Oakwood Clock: I cannot remember whether it is free or pay-and-display.
There is a small car park opposite, and down the road a bit (towards Leeds city centre), where you may park for four hours.
You may park in the Homebase car park, down the road (as you go in the direction of Leeds city centre) on Roundhay Road.
DO NOT use the supermarket car park at the rear, as it offers free parking for only two hours and is very strictly monitored.
If you arrive by bicycle you may bring your bicycle into the building to keep it safe, but let me know this before the day of our meeting.
Buses 12 and 13 leave New Briggate (opposite Primark) for Oakwood.
Bus 97 leaves Shaw Lane, Headingley, dropping you off near Roundhay Road. See my website www.richardmills.co.uk for more details.
Please bring £4.00 with you, cash or cheque (payable to Richard Mills), and pay during the break.
