Hello Everyone,

As everyone is aware (news) that there have been numerous incidents during hiking and backpacking due to weather.

This is to alert everyone participating on a meetup that you should make sure to check the weather forecast before going on a trip.

http://www.nws.noaa.g... <-- is one of a good website that has weather for the mountain using the Lat/Lon and Elevation. There are others as well.

Keep hiking and stay safe,

Let me see if I can add a URL for detalied weather forecasts by Lat/Long, wihtout meetup.com mangling it. Once you have the full URL, tou can change numbers to different Lat/Long in an editor or even on the Address line:

Example for (48.63N 122.41W):
http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=SEW&textField1=48.62670&textField2=-122.40700&FcstType=graphical
http ://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=SEW&textField1=48.62670textField2=-122.40700&FcstType=graphical

textField1= Lat (N is positive, S is negative)
textField2= Long (E is positive, W is negative)
FcstType=graphical detailed (hour by hour) forecast as a graph

For coarse grained view with map just remove trailing FcstType=graphical. The map is embedded Google and is draggable and clickable. Single click establishes new lat/long point for the forecast - handy if you don't have the Lat/Long but can recognize the point on the map.

Example for (48.63N 122.41W):
url=http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=SEW&textField1=48.62670&textField2=-122.40700
http ://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=SEW&textField1=48.62670&textField2=-122.40700
