Let's go birding at Barr Lake.

If you plan to back out of this hike at the last minute then please don't sign up for it!!

Folks we are going birding up at Barr Lake. I just talked with the ranger. The lake is full of water and they have lots of birds. They have eaglets, pelicans, blue herons and more.

There is a level trail all the way around the lake. We will go around the southern half of the lake where it's a wildlife sanctuary and then return the same way. It will be a total of around eight easy miles. Or if you want to you can continue on around the lake, a total of 10 miles. Bring your camera and/or binoculars and some water. We will ask that you try and keep the noise down to improve our bird watching. We'll start this hike at 9:00.

Directions to the PnR: Directions to Thornton PnR: From I-25 and 84th Ave exit 219, head east on 84th Ave to Grant St, turn left onto Grant, continue north on Grant. Go past the AF Warehouse parking lot. The PnR will be on your left. Plan on leaving from this park-n-ride at 8:00.
