Temescal - Rivas Trail

  • Apr 6, 2013 · 9:30 AM
  • Temesacl Canyon

Greetings all my next hike will be on the Temescal - Rivas trail. The hike starts in Temescal  gateway park and go's to Will Rogers State park. The length is 2.2 miles, a there and back type of hike. There is 500 feet gain/loss on the hike. This should be an okay hike for beginners. To get to Temescal Gateway park take the 10  west until it becomes Pacific Coast Hwy. Take PCH to Temescal Canyon Rd and turn right. Go to the end, you can park on the street near Palisades High School. Parking in temescal gateway park is $7. I will also note here that parking on the street could be difficult as this seems to be a popular hiking area. Hope to see you there. Norman

Great hike Norman. Loved the views and fauna. Found a tick on me last nite. Could have picked it up in my own backyard, but recommend everyone check for them, especially if you brought your dog.

I hope well-behaved humanist dogs are welcome! I'm currently training a sweet one to visit hospitals etc. He goes everywhere with me.

Hi there. Are well-behaved, leashed, humanist dogs welcome on this hike? Thanks.
