Castro Peak

Greetings All time for another hike. This time lets go to Castro Peak, 2528 feet. To get there take the 10 west to where it turns into Pacific Coast hwy. Take PCH north to Corral Canyon Rd. Turn Right onto Corral Canyon rd and take it to its end. The last hundred feet or so will be a dirt road. There is a small parking lot there at the end. Park in the parking lot. vicinity. Hike is estimated to be about 3.5 miles and about a 600 foot elevation gain/loss. We can not get to the peak itself as it has been "privately" owned since about 1999. We can however go right up to the chain across the road and many signs warning tresspassers to stay out. The sights and panoramas on the trail are great. There are also some interesting rock formations along another trail we can go look at as well. Hope to see you there. Norman
