SS Dominator shipwreck, Palos Verdes Penninsula

Stats:

Extremely rocky coastal hike

4-8 miles rt.

5oo' gain/loss

Tides:

High- 6:17 am at 4.9' and 7:05 pm at 5'

Low- 12:20 am at 1.1' and 12:43 pm at -.02

The tides dictate this hike.

We will descend to Bluff cove and work our way south along the shoreline towards Lunada Bay, exploring the shipwreck along the way.

From there we will take a vote and possibly split up, those who wish to return to their cars can either return the way we came or ascend the steep trail to the streets and hike the streets back to their car.

I plan on working my way down the coast to explore some of the tidepools in the area. There are numerous cuastal access points along the route which give us plenty of chances to turn around without having to double back along the coast. Ive obtained a coastal entry point map from the Department of fish and game, and will be emailing attendees a copy of this map.

Iwould like the group to stay together until Lunada Bay, though. From there, we can split into 2 and only 2 groups, those wishing to go back and those wishing to continue along the coastline.

As for directions, they are a bit tricky, I may change the meetup spot to Point Vicente, and we can caravan from there. More details will follow as we get closer to the date.
