Hello

You RSVP'd "Yes" on Meetup to the 5th Annual East Bay Hills Thru-Hike. This fundraising event helps build more Ridge Trail to hike, and requires registration with & payment to the Bay Area Ridge Trail Council, the non-profit working to complete the Trail. The modest fee of $55/day provides you an amazing and memorable experience! Join the group for 1 day, or hike all 5 days, a great way to explore the 2nd longest continuous section of Ridge Trail!

Each day includes full hot breakfast (think eggs, pancakes/French toast, etc), make-your-own for lunch to take on your hike, the best camp dinners ever served, captivating evening programs, camping, all your gear shuttled btw campsites, shower tents, swimming available a short walk from 2 of 3 campsites, maps, and hike guides & sweeps (you hike at your own pace). Massage available for a donation each afternoon. Make your own smoothies on the Human Powered Blender.

The adventure begins in less than a week; so if you want to hike for a day or more, or even simply join us for a great dinner in a wonderful park setting, please sign-up here now!

To help you decide which days to join, below is a schedule overview:

Tuesday, August 28: 2 pm—Camp opens at Bort Meadow in Anthony Chabot Park and people arrive today and tomorrow. No meals are served on Tuesday, but there will be a potluck dinner
Wednesday, August 29: Preview yet-to-be-open Ridge Trail thru Stonebrae Country Club in Hayward, and then follow the Ridge Trail through North Garin, Five Canyons and Don Castro parks, past the Independent School through Cull Canyon to a shuttle to camp. You'll have a delicious dinner, followed by a rousing performance from the Dark Hollow Bluegrass Band.
Thursday, August 30: A quick loop in the Anthony Chabot park highlighting trails recently improved by Volunteers for Outdoor California follow the Ridge and other Trails through Redwood Park to the next camp Joaquin Miller Park. The evening's program will be on the Hike Across California--from the Pacific to Nevada.
Friday, August 31: Hike Sausal Creek Trails to a root-beer float reward! In the evening, after an equestrians drill team arena performance, wander across the street to Chabot Space and Science to view the stars through the telescopes there.
Saturday, September 1: Follow the Ridge Trail through Redwood, Huckleberry, and Sibley Parks, thru EBMUD watershed to the next camp in Tilden Park. That evening a park Naturalist tells us about the natural history of Tilden and the East Bay Parks, before our raffle and silent auction.
Sunday, September 2: Hike the Ridge Trail through Tilden, Wildcat and EBMUD watershed to Kennedy Grove and then shuttle to Pinole Watershed and be the first ones ever to hike a gorgeous brand new Ridge Trail segment built by volunteers to Fernandez Ranch, where the hike ends with a shuttle back to camp or BART.

Please feel free to email ebhills@ridgetrail.org with any questions! We hope to hear back from you as you confirm your plans,
Morris
