1. For those who wish to carpool to Blountstown and arrive at about 8 am, we will meet at the Lynn Haven Winn Dixie at 7:00 AM.
2. Publicity Chair Andi Beauchamp is coordinating our booth. A few volunteers have already graciously offered to join her in Blountstown at 6:45 am to set up the booth.
3. Andi still needs a few more volunteers for various times of the day, so post here or call her to give her a hand!
4. One of our Chapter activities for the day will be a three-mile hike on the Blountstown Greenway, probably around 10:30 am.
Don't miss the 27th Annual Goat Day and Pioneer Days in Blountstown. We will be hosting our FTA Panhandle Chapter booth at the event.
This event is at Sam Atkins Park, on the west side of Blountstown. As you drive in on SR 20 from the west, just before entering the center of town, turn left (north) on 19th St. That will take you right to Sam Atkins Park.
Goat Day is from 8 am to 4 pm, and features great food, live entertainment, fun and games for the kids, and tons of arts and crafts booths. You can even have a plate of barbeque goat, if you so desire. A modest entrance fee is required for Goat Day.
What makes Goat Day especially fun is that it coincides with Pioneer Days at the Pioneer Settlement and Museum, which is right next door to Sam Atkins Park. All of the interesting Settlement buildings and displays will be open and operating - with free admission - and with lots to see and eat!
