***Buck Mtn.***Group #2***

Details

This will be the 2nd group of "Mates" to hike Buck Mtn. With all the interest in this hike, I will be taking a group up a half hour earlier. This is still a hike for every skill level. If you feel you are a faster hiker, then please join me on this hike. With the 2 groups going, we can split the hikes and everyone will still be able to meet at the top for a nice lunch and views of Lake George.

I expect everyone to be responsible for themselves on this hike. Proper gear (footwear, clothing) is essential along with water and food. If the weather is hot, please make sure you have enough water. We will hike to the top as a group and hike down as a group. In a group of this size, there's always a fast group, middle group and last group. The only requirement I ask, if you are part of the fast group, you wait at all trail junctions for the rest of the group to catch up and once in a while, stop for a break to give everyone a chance to catch up.

If there is a chance of rain, we will still hike, so please bring rainwear. I've been on many hikes where we have just as much fun in the rain!! An all day downpour will warrant a cancellation or postponement, but we will wait and make that decision a day or two befor the hike.

With 2 large groups going, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you carpool as much as possible. Exit 9 and Exit 16 are great places to park and ride. If you meet at exit 9, please meet around 8:15 am and be prepared to leave by 8:30 to make it to Pilot Knob parking lot in time. Figure on 8:45 departure time from exit 16.

This is a wonderful mountain to hike and the view at the summit is a well deserved reward for the effort put in.

Meeting here afterwards, whatever time that is.
