Hindi Boliye! (The Hindi Language Students' Network) is for people who have learnt, or want to learn Hindi, one of India's major languages. We're absolutely open to anyone who has an interest in India, and we warmly welcome newcomers to Melbourne.

Hindi Boliye runs a whole range of activities which can be roughly divided into the following categories:

  • Hindi Bolnaa: Here we work on our Hindi and iron out all the wrinkles. We do things like meeting regularly over a meal to do some language practice, revision or translation of Hindi texts, watch Hindi movies (read Bollywood), anything that will give us the opportunity to hear the language as it is spoken today.
  • Hindustan aur Melbourne Jai Ho: This is all about enjoying Melbourne and India's delights. We attend gigs, check out funky places, attend festivals, watch films, go on hiking trips and so on. It's all about socialising and 'living it up' in Melbourne.
  • Sochnaa aur Bolnaa ('to think and to talk'): Fancy having a discussion about 'the world today' in India and Australia? This is for people who want to have a bit of a serious chat, and we do things like going to talks run by the Australia India Institute
  • Beyond the Hindi World: Hindi is just one of the major languages in India. Here, the focus is on learning and embracing  India's linguistic and cultural diversity, so we do things like watch films in the Kannada language (local language of Karnataka).

Hindi learners and speakers of all levels welcome!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
