Introduction to Beekeeping

Registration is done through the San Diego Sustainable Living Institute:

Cost is $35- Limited to 12 people

The San Diego City Council recently legalized backyard beekeeping so it is the perfect time to sign up and learn about the honeybee. Beekeeping is a an exciting and interesting hobby with delicious results. If you’re thinking about starting a beehive or are just curious about what’s involved with keeping bees, then this is a great introductory class for you. The class is designed for absolute beginners so no prerequisite knowledge is required.

Hilary will teach you how the honey bee lives, discuss different hive designs, and tell you how to get started with your own hive. A handout will be provided and Hilary will be available via email to answer any questions you may have post class. This class will be approximately 3 hours long.

The class will be held at City Farmer's Nursery and the address will be emailed out to all registered participants prior to the date. The class size is limited to 12 people so register early to ensure your spot.
