Night Hike at Memorial Park (5 miles)

Details
Merry Christmas Jan!!! :-)
It's time for another night hike, and Memorial Park beckons! These hikes are super fun. We've had as many as 75 members show up for the night hikes at Memorial and Terry Hershey. Please know where you are going before heading out. I will not be able to give you play by play directions via phone. I do not know this area beyond where we hike.
These night hikes are great for first time hikers. They are fewer miles and much cooler than some of our other hikes. They are a good way to introduce your kids to hiking and assess their fitness level and attention span before bringing them on one of the regular hikes. This hike is not stroller friendly...the trails are narrow and bumpy.
Dogs are welcome but must be friendly, and they must stay on a leash at all times...no exceptions. There will be multiple dogs, so be sure they are not dog aggressive.
From 610, head east on Woodway Dr. You will pass the Arboretum/Nature Center. Stay to your right. Right after you go under the overpass/railroad tracks you will veer right onto Picnic Loop. You will see some baseball fields on your right. Park in the lot that runs the length of the baseball fields and meet us near the last baseball field at the main trailhead.
Supplies: headlamp, water, snack, comfy tennis shoes or boots, layers of clothes.

I prefer our hikes be off of the sidewalk for the most part. Areas like the Terry Hershey and Memorial Park dirt trails are great. If you have some suggestions for other places, please let me know. I look forward to seeing you all!

We'll grab a bite to eat afterward at Canyon Creek Cafe. I recommend the Spinach/Feta Quesadilla and the enormous chocolate cake!
