I was very disappointed that there was no email announcing that the topic and presenters had changed. The first presentation about SASS was awful. We need speakers that know how to present and teach. He was difficult to understand because he mumbled under his breath a lot, and his presentation seemed to have been made up on the spur of the moment. If I could rate this speaker, I would give 0 stars. At any moment during his presentation, he seemed as if he wanted to toss everything and walk away. The second presenter was better--well rehearsed, but somewhat boring. He spoke loudly and clearly, and seemed interested in what he was sharing. I would like to hear from speakers that are more excited about presenting. Maybe more crowd interaction would help. For instance, work some code for the audience, and don't read from the PowerPoint.

I don't think I'll be attending an HTML5 meetup again.

Thank you to both the presenters. However, I could not attend full presentation of Jeff due to time constrain, it will be really great if we can start the next meet-up little early say by 6.15PM so that I will not miss anything.
Thanks to Kianosh for SASS CSS presentation.

I understand that a last minute cancellation is difficult to handle, however I was disappointed in the fact that considering you sent a "million" emails prior to the event asking for people to let you know if we will attend, you could have written somewhere in those emails letting us know that the main speaker would no longer be presenting and the subject of the conference had changed.

The first talk was a bit over my level as far as where I'm at with CSS, and didn't so much directly deal with HTML5. I thought the second talk seemed right on with outlining some new features in HTML5 and how to use them.

I agree with you Nancy, our original presenter had a last minute conflict and we didn't have enough time to find someone to replace him. I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Jeff Boulay and Kianosh Pourian coming to the rescue in such of a short notice. Our sincere apologies for the last minute change, we will try to have a contingency plan in place for the future.

I was extremely disappointed by the sudden change in topic, since I was looking forward to some guidance. However, I was thrilled with the two speakers. I have to say the SASS is a bit over my head, but appreciate knowing about it. Responsive design I picked up a few tidbits. Very pleased with the level of expertise with both presentations. THANK YOU!

Quite good. Rating 4 because the topic changed without notice.

The topic was changed at the last minute due to scheduling conflict, so kudos to the organizers and speakers for stepping up. Both talks covered new (to me) and useful information and were well-presented.

The meeting's topic was changed. It had little to do with HTML5. Frustrating. Should not happen in the future.

I was disappointed that the topic changed without notice. I wasn't disappointed in Kianosh's presentation. Had to leave early so missed the other. Keep up the good work.

I had a great time presenting on responsive web design. I hope that everyone enjoyed the talks. Here is the link to my presentation http://fluid-logic.com/presentations/pragmatic-responsive-design/. At the end of the presentation I have a link to a bunch of resources on the subject that I hope people find helpful. Thanks for letting Kianosh and I present.

Presentation started. Kianosh Pourian (@kianoshp - http://innovatorylife.com) is presenting a lightning session on Advanced SASS CSS. Cool stuff! Jeff Boulay (@jeffboulay) will come next presenting the second part of our meetup on page structure and responsive design. BTW: We are recording the sessions and will be posting the video later in the week.

Looks like something came up, and will not be able to attend tonight. My spot it is open for who ever wants to claim it.

Last time I tried to video tape the session with my flip camera was a disaster. Anyone volunteer to help us out on this front?

    April 30, 2012

  • Merlin C.

Well, I think Marcelo one of the lead organizers might have a video camera. Since he has video taped events before. I am know video expert, yet it would be cool if we can get someone to volunteer with some high end equipment like PD-150. Does anyone know of anyone that has the equipment/experience to stream content live? If so dm me with details. I do know someone I can ask, yet on short notice not sure if they will be available.

I concur with Oswald, it'll be awesome if that's possible for those who can't attend or are on waiting list. thanks!

Would it be possible to videotape or live stream the event for people who ar e unable to attend?
