In 2007 Mike succumbed to a debilitating back injury that overshadowed over 4 years of racing many long distance running and triathlon events. At the time he had invested thousands of hours training and next to no time in what he now calls “Body Maintenance”. After realizing training would no longer be an option in his current condition, he invested hundreds of hours in formulating a plan and developing a body maintenance routine that would provide complete body wellness when combined with sustained training loads. It was at this time that he changed his outlook and his message that he disseminated to hundreds of athletes, “If you don’t have time for body maintenance, then you don’t have time for training!” It has always been Mike’s passion serving people, and it is the voice of experience that Mike uses when he supports, trains and educates all who he has the pleasure of coming in contact with.
The last 9 years have been a very exciting time with the large growth of interest in the area of endurance athletics. Long distance cycling, running and triathlon events have become more popular than ever before. With this increase in participation and the “discovery” of natural running so has there also been an increase in unnecessary and preventable injury.
