Thursday, June 19th, Bachelor/Bachelorette Charity Auction Committee Meeting. 7:00 to 8:30pm. The committee will meet in the Sheraton Hotel on the first floor lobby in the Pelican Club Bar, located at 500 Canal Street. The committee will plan and stage our September 27th charity auction, which will be held at the grand ballroom in the Sheraton. If you would like to serve on this committee, please attend this meeting. You may also bring a guest.
Saturday, June 21, Annual Meet and Greet. This meeting is open to all representatives of humane organizations, rescue groups, and animal control departments in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Tammany, Plaquemines, and St. Bernard parishes. We will be discussing opportunities to share resources and expand our services by forming new partnerships. The meeting will take place from 9:30 am to 12:30, in the Oak Alley Conference Room at the Sheraton, located at 500 Canal Street. Topics will also include reviewing new animal protection legislation and developing new business strategies. To attend, please contact Jeff at this email. Everyone is welcome.
Saturday, June 21, Vegetarian Get-Together. If you are interested in learning more about a vegetarian diet and/or lifestyle, or if you would simply like to meet other like-minded individuals, please accept our invitation to attend our June get-together at the Nirvana Indian Restaurant, located at 4308 Magazine Street, starting at 7:30 pm. Sunday, June 22, Caravan to Tylertown, Mississippi. We are looking for a handful of volunteers to travel with us to help at our sheltering facility in Tylertown, Mississippi, two hours from New Orleans. Dress for very hot weather and be prepared to socialize with lots of great animals and/or do special projects around our 4-acre facility. Please call Jeff at[masked] to make travel arrangements. If you are traveling in your own vehicle, we will pay for your gas. Caravan leaves at noon and will return between 8-9 pm.
