Please exercise your right to lobby as a concerned citizen! There are several bills pending at our Louisiana State Capitol that can affect the lives of thousands of animals.
One bill in particular, however, will affect the life of one solidary Siberian Tiger who has been living in a small enclosure at a gas station, as a tourist attraction called "The Tiger Truck Stop" near Lafayette, for the past ten years! Litigation has finally denied the owner the ability to maintain a permit to keep the tiger, but the owner, on behalf of his state senator, has introduced a bill to provide him with an exception. The bill passed a senate committee this week and will now be heard on the Senate floor next week. Please contact your state senator and ask him or her to vote AGAINST Senate Bill 250 (also referred to as SB 250) and ask others to do the same.
