Here are 3 ways to help animals during the next few days. If all 170 of us did a little, we'd help thousands of animals in need.
#1: Volunteer at this Sunday's (or any Sunday) outreach booth at NOLA Swap Meet, anytime between 10 am and 4 pm (or bake and drop off vegan desserts!) http://www.theneworleansadvocate.com/community/crescentcity/8994112-171/throw-me-something-mid-city-fleafarmers
#2: Train to be a cruelty case worker. With a little training, you can help police and sheriff's deputies in the rural parts of our state properly respond to and investigate animal cruelty complaints, since many of them lack the proper skills, training or experience. You can work out of your home and office and help guide investigations long distance. For example, we assisted Grant Parish Sheriff's deputies as they cited an owner for cruelty and seized her horse: http://www.kalb.com/story/25414594/neglected-horse-in-grant-parish-rescued-owner-cited-for-cruelty
3. Purchase tickets to our upcoming 2014 NOLA Veggie Fest or sponsor inner city kids to attend with their parents by donating here: http://nolaveggiefest.com/.
Also, starting in June, if you haven't volunteered, responded to our emails or paid your dues, you'll be removed from this group. :-( Kindly remember that this is a service-providing, dues-paying group and the animals desperately need all of our help!!
