Hello All. I thought I'd jump right in and introduce myself, and I'm sure you'll all drop everything to hang on my every word...or perhaps shamelessly dangle from a few....wink

A bit about my Identity Markers: I am the author of 13 books, with another 8 in progress, and currently pitching my books to publishers and agents, after spending 20 years polishing my craft. I didn't start querying until the last few months...i know, i did it sort of backward. But i felt I should be able to compete before trying to....(Review copies can be had via my writing site, ....I welcome both professional and reader reviews. If any of you can get me some press I'll drop ship you a copy for free.) Okay. Enough self-promotion. Back to TALKING ABOUT MYSELF)

I just joined this group in anticipation of my relocation to the Denver-Boulder area in Dec08, and hope to create a social circle-- to include those who are freethinkers like me. Let me just say that I am in dire need of kindreds...(My best friend is a Deist--though my favorite person in the world.). I'm a registered Independent, an atheist, and a lesbian. I don't think i can get much closer to being a quintessential Pariah than that. LOL. But I also know that i am more real and more ethical than a majority of people I've had the misfortune to meet. Cynical? Jaded?...a little. Maybe. Okay, yeah. I just don't understand why people don't utilize their brain-power more, exhibit the proper awe of SCIENCE, and why they can't seem to be honest with themselves or anyone else. Is it just me, or is the whole world moving toward a pervasive fuckedupedness?

I only recently embraced my atheism, and this identity became firmly rooted while working on one of my current books, "Supernatural Hypocrisy: The Cognitive Dissonance of a God Cosmology." The book began as a search for my own cosmology, as my world view was reaching critical mass, and it is my nature to write about things in order to figure them out. Long story short, the book had to be renamed, (As above) because i revealed myself to myself pretty quickly in the process. The book is still in progress, and I hope to finish it by the end of the year, but since I'm relocating during that time, it might be delayed.

I'm also an Artist and Singer-Songwriter. And have been paid handsomely for my massage ability, have a sarcastic but good-natured sense of humor, and LOVE to have long conversations over coffee. OR beer. Or wine.

I have four blogs, drop by and leave a comment on any posts, if you feel inclined.

Used by the Muse includes a player widget at the bottom of the blog where you can hear my music.
Also check out my art site:
and my music site:

Whew. Okay. Enough about me. I want to learn about all of you.

Warm Regards,
Jae Baeli

Hi, Jae! Don't worry; this group is a lot more active than its Meetup site's message board. To meet people, come to meetings and introduce yourself around! I'll be at the next one, and you can recognize me by my funny glasses and dyed red hair.

Welcome! (Tired as hell, opting for brevity.)

Welcome Jae,

Thanks for the post. It's good to hear such creativity and I'm sure that several of our members, including myself, will be interested in both the music and the books. Stay tuned for an announcement for a Humanlight/ Yule celebration in late December. We are working on specifics now.

A writer, eh? Excellent. I just took over our monthly newsletter, and I am looking for content for future issues. When you land in town, stop by a meeting, pick up a copy of our recent newsletters, and see if you don't already have something from your blogs that you would like to see printed on actual paper!

Oh, you won't be here 'til December! That's good, 'cause then we'll have some time to read your writing before you get here. I was tired as hell; I totally missed that.
